2nd Meeting to Establish a Community Working Group

Re: Development Proposal for 763-765 Woodbine Avenue & 1945-1955 Gerrard Street East

The City of Toronto Urban Development Services has received a development application for properties on the south-east corner of Woodbine Avenue and Gerrard Street East (763-765 Woodbine Ave. & 1945-1955 Gerrard St. E.) requesting permission to construct a 7-storey, 36 unit residential building with commercial space at street level.

At the initial community meeting held by Councillor Bussin on October 6 [sic], 2007 regarding this development proposal, Councillor Bussin suggested the establishment of a community working group to work with City Planning and the developer to achieve a development plan acceptable to the neighbourhood. This meeting is the fulfillment of the Councillor's commitment to initiate this process.

The meeting will be attended by Councillor Bussin, representatives of the developer, and by City of Toronto Planner, Michael Mestyan - 416-397-4487.

A rezoning application has been filed with the city to allow the construction of a 7-storey mixed-use commercial/residential building on the southeast corner of Woodbine & Gerrard. The building would replace 763 and 765 Woodbine Ave., and 1945 to 1955 Gerrard St. E.

The proposed development would feature 36 residential units above stores at ground level.
